MMC 2-inch 375 mm with phlegm centring device – multi-tube column
The MMC SK 2" 375 mm is a modern multi-tube, multilayer column with a phlegm centring device, ensuring high heat and mass transfer efficiency and stable operation during distillation.
The construction uses 7 sylphon (corrugated) tubes, 360 mm long with a wall thickness of just 0.2 mm, which makes heat exchange significantly more efficient compared to classic columns. Phlegm runs down each tube, where it re-evaporates due to the higher temperature of the steam passing through the tube. The phlegm running down the corrugated tube moves in the form of a layer.
Compared to traditional MMCs (11 smooth tubes 1 mm thick), this model:
- has 33% larger heat exchange area
- has wall thicknesses 5 times thinner
- provides significantly higher efficiency
An additional advantage is the phlegm centring device,
which:
- prevents phlegm from entering the steam tubes
- directs the flow strictly to the centre of the column
- increases operational stability and efficiency
At present, there are no equivalents on the market combining these characteristics and price.
